Annual Chili Cook-Off Planning Begins

Masters City Little League is proud to announce its annual Chili Cook-Off and Vendor night. We are super excited about this. The event will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023. You may start settling up as early as 10:00am. All chili needs to be ready to be served by 6:30pm. The entry fee is $50.00 per team. Your team may consist of 4 people per site. One person must stay at your site at all times. You will have to provide your own tables and chairs for your site. You will also be required to bring your own heating device such as a camp stove, canned heat, or gas grill allowed with your own utensils. Chili will be prepared on site. Meat can be precooked but not pre-seasoned. You will be required to have a list of ingredients (not the recipe) to alert for allergens. Armbands will be sold for $5.00 a person. The armband entitles the person to sample ALL chili that is entered into the cook-off. After sampling all the chili, the person may return to get a bowl of their favorite chili. Chili will be based on its on merit. There will be 5 criteria's that the chili will be judged on. There 5 criteria's are as followed:
1. Color- Chili should be appetizing reddish brown is generally accepted as good.
2. Aroma- Chili should smell good. This also indicated what's in store when you taste it.
3.Consistency- Chili must have a good ration between sauce and meat. It should not be dry, watery, grainy, lumpy, or greasy.
4.Taste- Taste, above all else, taste is the most important factor. The taste should consist of a combination of meat, spices, etc. with no particular ingredient being dominant.
5. After-taste- The aftertaste or bite is the heat created by the various types of spices and or peppers.
There is ONLY 10 spaces available for the Chili Cook-Off so get your registration form in TODAY!

1st Place Team will receive a $100 Gift Card
2nd Place Team will receive a $50  Gift Card
3rd Place Team will receive a $25  Gift Card

We are also looking for vendors to set- up for this event. The cost is $50.00 per vendor and you will provided a 10X10 space. No electricity will be provided.
